Conspiratorial ideation is the tendency of individuals to believe that events and power relations are secretly manipulated by certain clandestine groups and organizations.
This academic paper by Dr. David Robert Grimes ‘On the Viability of Conspiratorial Beliefs’, shows that large conspiracies, those over 1000 agents, quickly become untenable and prone to failure.
This is an incredibly important paper as it shows that while real conspiracies exist, they will fall apart once they have a large number of people. As conspiracy theories about COVID-19 are making the rounds, this paper shows how it is non-sense.
When dealing with those who believe in the flat earth doctrine and members of the Flat Earth Society, they will tell you that NASA is involved in the greatest conspiracy ever. But thinking the hundreds of thousands of NASA employees and contractors passing through this organization over the decades can keep a conspiracy, is utter nonsense.
That, by definition, makes pretty much every conspiracy theory utter rubbish.
