I’ve written numerous articles about scams, scammers, and how to avoid being scammed. From vacation scams (I’m not saying every call or email you receive about vacations or timeshares is a scam, but I challenge you to find a single person who has ever received a call/email about vacations or timeshares that was not a scam), Amazon refund scams, and more.
Many scams are cyclical. For example, with Medicare’s open enrollment period for 2025 starting October 15, expect Medicare scammers to begin calling in late September.
Scammers are pretty creative, and they will never miss an opportunity to exploit people’s trust to steal their money. The resume writing scam has been around for a while, and it seems to be back in style, as I have gotten numerous scam emails in the past few weeks.
These scammers find recruiters from legitimate firms whose profiles on LinkedIn are not that active. Since they are inactive, they can’t reply that their profiles are being exploited. They use that as a launching pad to scam the victims.
